On Wednesday, April 15, at 6.00 PM at the Uphagen’s Summer Residence (Gdańsk, 5 Grunwaldzka Avenue) another Metropolitan Conversatory is going to be held.
This time we will discuss auxiliary units and their legal structure. The local elections to district councils in Gdansk and Gdynia are bahind us. Again, unfortunately, the turnout was not very high. Just 10% of those eligible to vote decided to do so. But this is not noting new or exceptional compared to other cities. Lack of interest in the activities of district authorities is primarily due to their limited ability to influence local issues.
So the question here is how to utilize the involvement of local community workers and the huge potential that district communities posses. What model of the district is the most effective? Should Gdańsk use solutions of Gdynia? Or should it be the other way round? Why there are no auxiliary units in Sopot?
Experienced local government officials from around the Tri-City are going to join the meeting. Join them in a discussion!
